Greiner sets aid measures for the people in Ukraine

Greiner AG

Greiner AG and its divisions set humanitarian aid measures for the crisis region Ukraine. The measures focus on monetary donations and the delivery of immediately needed relief goods in close cooperation with aid organisations working on the ground.

One focus of the aid measures is the delivery of products for daily use. From the production of the NEVEON foam division, donations in kind were made in the form of 12,000 mattresses for sleeping places in the Red Cross emergency shelters directly in Ukraine and in the border areas to Poland and Romania. In close cooperation with the Red Cross, we are constantly evaluating which other products from the company's portfolio can provide valuable support.

Another monetary contribution is a donation of 15,000 euros that Greiner has already made to CARE Austria's Emergency & Disaster Relief. The money will be used in cooperation with the partner organisation "People in Need" in Ukraine for relief supplies (food, water, hygiene articles), as cash payments to cover daily needs and for psychological care.

The Ukrainian employees affected, whom Greiner employs at its locations in Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic, are being supported in intensive cooperation with the Red Cross in everything that is currently needed. This includes, among other things, assistance in leaving Ukraine, support in applying for and extending visas, support in catching up with family members and crossing the border, mobilisation of vehicles in the border areas, support in arriving after crossing the border and provision of cash valuables in Ukraine for daily needs.

In a joint statement, Greiner AG CEO Axel Kühner and CFO Hannes Moser are stunned by this war in the middle of Europe: "We despise war and violence. At Greiner, we stand for peaceful coexistence and a united Europe. We therefore deeply reject this disregard for international law and the violation of human rights. We are convinced that we must now stand together. It is our responsibility to stand by the people who need it most right now and to support them with all the means at our disposal."
