We want to drastically reduce our absolute emissions. Our climate targets have been confirmed by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
We have set the goal of reducing our absolute scope-1 and scope-2 emissions by 60% by 2030 (base year 2021). We are also committed to reducing the absolute scope-3 emissions from fuel and energy-related activities, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution as well as the end-of-life treatment of products sold by 25% by 2030 (base year 2021). In addition, 80% of our suppliers should also have science-based targets (SBT) by 2027, measured in terms of the emissions from the goods and services purchased.
We want to close the cycles. This applies first and foremost to our products, which we want to design and produce in such a way that they can be managed cyclically. However, our vision for a comprehensive circular economy naturally also applies to our resource consumption as a whole.
By making the environmental footprint of our products visible and actively improving it, we can ensure that we manufacture only circular products in the long term. We have set the goal of making 100% of our packaging (Greiner Packaging) reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. Our ambition also focuses on the substitution of primary materials with secondary materials. In addition, we want to increase the recycling rate of our waste to 75% by 2030 and stop sending waste to landfill. By 2030, 99% of our suppliers with an annual purchasing volume of over 500 thousand euros must have a valid EcoVadis certification.
We want to promote the talents and skills of our employees. We therefore put training and further education in the focus of our measures. As a company with a unique corporate culture, we also place a special focus on the physical and mental health of our colleagues.
A workplace at Greiner should be characterized by appreciation, openness, trust and reliability. We want to support employees who wish to further develop their talents and skills in their ambitions. We have therefore set the goal of increasing the hours of further training per employee to an average of 16 hours by 2025. Because health is paramount, we have also set the goal of reducing serious workplace accidents per one million hours worked to fewer than 3.1 by 2030, and offering more occupational health services. In addition, we want to increase the proportion of women outside production to 50% by 2025 and see women account for 40% of management positions by 2030.
