“Despite difficult conditions in the last few years, our employees have shown commitment, innovation and a high level of flexibility. We are therefore particularly delighted that Greiner’s performance has been recognized in this way and received such as special accolade,” said Axel Kühner, CEO of Greiner AG in his initial response to Greiner’s recognition as “Austria’s Best Managed Company 2022.”
Many lessons learned thanks to the external perspective
This year was the first time that Greiner put itself forward for the in more than 50 countries recognized and independent Best Managed Companies (BMC) evaluation process. The intention behind its participation was to view its own processes from a different perspective and to scrutinize them in a structured manner. “The extensive workshops and feedback sessions during the evaluation process were a valuable experience for us, during which we learned a lot about our own processes,” said Manfred Stanek, COO-elect of Greiner AG, at the award ceremony at the Raiffeisen building in Vienna on September 21. The credit for the award primarily belongs to the more than 11,000 employees around the world, who make the company’s success possible. “We are very proud of this achievement, but also see the award as an incentive to continue improving,” said Stanek.
International evaluation program
The evaluation examined the company’s performance in the categories of governance & finance, strategy, productivity & innovation, and culture & commitment. A company is only recognized as a Best Managed Company if it can demonstrate high quality and performance in all four areas. In addition, topics such as ESG and cyber security were the focus of this year's evaluation. Every year, hundreds of companies put themselves forward for the independent evaluation process, which is organized by Deloitte. In Austria, the award is presented by Deloitte and Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien.
