Our apprentices: the future of Greiner
Full of anticipation, our apprentices started their training at the beginning of September, taking the first steps towards their professional future.
With the start of their apprenticeship training, a total of 19 young girls and boys embarked on their professional future – a time with many opportunities for learning and personal development. Team training took place in the second week to get to know each other better and develop a good sense of togetherness. In various tasks, the apprentices were able to demonstrate their teamwork skills, contribute their personal strengths and build a trusting relationship with the other apprentices and trainers. The time was a lot of fun for everyone and provided a good basis for mastering the challenges of the first year of the apprenticeship together. Overall, the start of the apprenticeship in September was filled with many exciting impressions for the new teammates. In their first training module, "Production engineering basics", the apprentices tested and strengthened their manual skills and primarily learned mechanical skills such as drilling, filing and the manual processing of workpieces.
Apprenticeship training is generally very diverse and holistic. In addition to specialist knowledge, apprentices also attend courses that are important for their future lives. Communication training, "learning to learn", safety training and an outdoor first aid course is firmly anchored in the apprenticeship training. The young people's health awareness is promoted with morning sports twice a week in the first year of the apprenticeship and health training. Innovative methods such as digital learning and taking part in competitions are used to keep motivation high.
Welcome Evening with parents and family members
One of the highlights of the first few weeks was certainly the Welcome Evening, to which the apprentices and their parents and family members were invited. Sarah Mettner, Head of the Training Center, emphasized the importance of this moment.
The department heads, managing directors of the locations as well as the trainers, training managers and divisional managers from the HR departments also gave the future specialists a warm and appreciative welcome. They all made it clear how important the new apprentices are for the future of the company and what opportunities await them in the coming years of training.
In addition to the joint celebration, the families were also given tours of the training center, where they were able to admire their daughters' and sons' first workpieces.
