Health and safety concerns us all!
April 28 is World Awareness Day for Safety and Health at Work
At Greiner, we work day in, day out to ensure the safety of our employees and protect their health. We are committed to ensuring that the working environment is safe and that work processes are free from hazards. We provide our employees with appropriate protective clothing and equipment and offer a wide range of preventive healthcare. In short: We do our utmost to avoid accidents, illnesses, and particularly personal injuries.
Personal targets: 11,600 x 5%
The framework conditions for safe and healthy working are one thing. It is another to raise awareness of the importance of this topic.
For this reason, our Executive Board, together with all divisional managers, has decided to anchor Health & Safety targets in the personal target agreements of all employees for 2024. These targets are included in the overall assessment as part of the annual employee appraisal with a weighting of five percent, regardless of whether the personal targets are bonus-relevant or not. They also apply regardless of the position (whether managerial or not), work area (whether production or office) and country in which the employee works.
The annual target values at the individual locations are set by the department heads. A review of the past year at the beginning of 2025 will show whether these targets have actually been achieved and therefore have a positive impact on personal targets. All employees can read about the development of the current accident figures on an internal page.
Internal reporting has also been improved. The formation of a Group-wide Health & Safety Team, which initially agreed on the definition of Group-wide KPIs, was a key factor in this. Specific measures derived from this at Group level are currently being developed.
Targets as part of the Blue Plan
Furthermore, as part of our "Blue Plan" sustainability strategy, we agreed on specific, Group-wide targets for the areas of health and safety back in 2020. The current figures for 2023 will be published shortly in our Integrated Report.
